Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, unless active-duty military 18-21 years of age, or with an honorable discharge.

Complete a Nevada certified firearm's training course by an approved CCW firearms instructor prior to submitting application.

Initial application – 8-hour class (must include live fire qualification)

Renewal application – 4-hour class (must include live fire qualification)

Nevada residents must apply within the county residing in. LVMPD accepts only Clark County.

Must have valid state ID, Real ID or driver's license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) with current address.

Nevada military residents will need active military ID or current orders for proof of residence.

Start the process: Upon completion of the CCW class, instructor will issue a Firearms Safety Course and Firearms Proficiency Certification of Completion. The certificate must be submitted in person at LVMPD Records and Fingerprint Bureau to be processed for finger printing and background check,

Permits:
Concealed carry firearm permits are valid for 5 years from date of issuance.
Register for the CCW class and legally carry concealed.

How long is the class:
For new permits, classes are typically held for 8 hours including range time.
Renewals are held for a minimum of 4 hours including range time.
Do I need to be a current gun owner to take the class?
No, you don’t have to be. You can take the class and rent a handgun for the range portion. Individuals have taken this class to learn firearms safety before purchasing their first firearm.
Do I have to pass a written tests or any tests to complete the class?
Yes, there’s a written test consisting of 50 questions and a live fire proficiency test. A minimum passing score of 70% must be achieved with both the written test and live fire proficiency test.
Has Anyone failed the written test and/or live fire proficiency test?
Our instructors will ensure to provide all information and instructions to pass the tests.
Who qualifies for CCW permits?
Anyone who is at least 21 years of age or active-duty military 18-21 years of age, or with an honorable discharge.
What disqualifies me from obtaining a CCW permit?
Anyone who is a fugitive from justice, who has Felony convictions, convicted of a crime involving the use/threat of force, including misdemeanors, within 3 years, convicted of a crime involving Domestic Violence or stalking, DUI conviction(s) within 5 years, currently subject to a restraining order or protection against violence, you are currently on parole or probation, you have been declared mentally incompetent, admitted into a mental health facility within 5 years, a Medical Marijuana card holder, and/or dishonorable discharge from the military.
Can I schedule the range portion on a different day from the class?
Yes, as long as the class and the range portion are not more than 14 days apart.
Do you offer private classes?
Yes, at a higher fee. (Feel free to call or text to inquire).
Does CCW permits expire?
Yes, CCW permits are good for 5 years and expires 5 years from the date of issue.
Can a person of all levels and handgun experience attend this class?
Yes, after attending the class, people of all levels learned plenty or something new.
Does other States honor Nevada CCW permit?
Yes, Nevada CCW permit has reciprocity to about 30 states.
How long is the process to get a CCW permit?
Upon completion of the class, instructors will issue an application form. Upon submitting the application form for fingerprinting and background check, the process may take from 30 to 120 days.
Is range fee included with the class cost?
Yes, range and approved ccw paper targets are included. Handgun and ammo are not included.
